Dat Facebook regelmatig nieuwe functies mogelijk maakt is bekend. Op de wall (prikbord) zie je dit meteen, maar minder direct zichtbaar zijn de wijzigingen voor Ads. Hiervan stellen we je graag op de hoogte. Voor 29 februari 2012 heeft Facebook een nieuwe optie aangekondigd: Premium Ads.
While blogs and papers are already flooded with predictions for 2012, we felt like the internet is a big enough place to also share our predictions, in particular about Digital Design.
In the previous decade digital design has mainly been about designing webpages for 17” inch screens (1024x768) and larger. The challenge has been to give every user, regardless of how big their screen is, an optimal experience. With the smartphone slowly taking over desktop browsing (predicted 2014) and mobile strategy being rightfully considered as most important nowadays, we seem to be making a 180 degrees turn towards designing for smaller then 17” inch screens. Leaving designers a range from anywhere between 320 and 2560 pixels to design for.
As you may or may not have read, we started with our Nowlab last year. Together with Studio Sophisti we sat down for a day and launched a really cool project. You can read all about it in the press release we sent out.
With new phones coming out almost every week, the variety of mobile screen sizes expands with it. For developers it's often difficult to find a fitting solution for this problem. This brief introduction to mobile design we made, might just guide you in the right direction.
In some countries the new Google Nexus smartphone has already launched, whereas in The Netherlands rumour has it that the Nexus phone will arrive today. With this new phone will come a new version of the Android operating system, Android 4.0, nicknamed Ice Cream Sandwich (jummie!). As we're into mobile developing at Isobar, it's good to be aware of the new features this new operating system enholds.
Ook wij kunnen er niet omheen: Wordfeud (iPhone/Android). Na Angry Birds komt dit spel waarschijnlijk op een goede tweede plaats in de categorie ‘virale spelletjes’. In de trein, in de bus, op het werk, even kijken het schermpje van een ander en de helft van de tijd zie je iemand bezig met het spel.
Wat is Wordfeud?
Wordfeud is een spelletje dat erg lijkt op het bekende bordspel Scrabble. Alleen veranderen bij Wordfeud de vakjes met de extra waardes bij ieder spel van plaats, waardoor het iedere keer weer een verrassing is hoe je zoveel mogelijk punten kunt gaan scoren. Bij bepaalde layouts is het mogelijk om direct na je eerste woord al een enorme voorsprong te nemen op je tegenstander. Je kunt vrienden toevoegen met wie je een spel kunt spelen, maar je kunt ook willekeurig met iemand spelen als je vrienden het spel nog niet gedownload hebben. In het spel kun je tevens chatten met je tegenstander, wat het extra leuk maakt.
With all these new products launched every day, every time smarter, easier to use, faster, cheaper, a lot of the older versions of those products get set aside and turn into waste, even when there's practically nothing wrong with them. Some get shipped off to other countries where they're happy to have our 'old fashioned' products. Some just gather dust until someone thinks they're better off at a dump. Fortunately, there are people that see the true potential of these 'end of life' products and they turn them into art. Art, as in: nice to look at, making you think about life, the universe and everything, timeless.
